28 Long Causeway, Peterborough PE1 1LY, UK – 0800 554 0669

The service I get when I go into branch (I do online banking) is fantastic. They have a lot of patience and really go out of their way. I was recently there as I needed help setting up my mobile banking app. The young man who helped me was brilliant and repeated and showed me everything I didn't understand. Thank you xx

Very good experience everytime I go in there! Sometimes there's a lot of ques because it's the only one in Peterborough! But other than that very good

Leeds Building Society

2 Queen St, Peterborough PE1 1PA, UK – 01733 896565

Local Chambers of Commerce for PE2 9ED. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out. Below is the national site. Watch this slot - it might improve!
Peterborough City Council

Town Hall, Bridge St, Peterborough PE1 1HF, UK – 01733 747474

Spoke to a lady today at Peterborough Council reference an issue we had and she was excellent from start to finish. After around 10/15 mins we got all the answers and she couldn't do enough to assist us (very knowledgeable). A credit to the council, thanks again!

Reception staff went right out of their way for me... well impressed

Peterborough Council for Voluntary Services

32-34 Cromwell Rd, Peterborough PE1 2EA, UK – 01733 342683

A safe and welcoming place for those of a volunteering disposition. The offices, more spacious than first appears, are close to city centre. No on site parking but car parks within easy walking distance, as are the bus and rail stations

Fab organisation that always puts the needs of the people they are supporting first

Botolph Bridge Community Health Centre

Valley Park Centre/Sugar Way, Peterborough PE2 9QB, UK – 01733 774500

Friendly staff. Waiting times are better than some surgeries I've been registered at. Can't fault the nurses and doctors and the reception staff are very friendly. Easy to find a parking space.

Always helpful... always took the time for me... can't fault them here

Stanground Surgery

Peterborough Rd, Farcet, Peterborough PE7 3BW, UK – 01733 568569

Docs & nurses are lovely, only problem is trying to get through to make appt. I tried calling first thing 92 times, constantly engaged, gave up in the end.

Haven't had a problem with getting an appointment even once since I learnt when and how to call - they open at 8 so if you really want/need an appointment that would mean you need to be awake and calling them at 8:00. Line is busy but when you constantly call for a few mins you get through early enough and they still have them available. Most doctors and nurses are really nice and understanding. Haven't had issues at all.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

Fitzwilliam Hospital

Milton Way, South Bretton, Peterborough PE3 9AQ, UK – 01733 261717

I have had several operations over some years, at Fitzwilliam hospital. The doctors and staff are amazing. I find they go out of their way to make sure you understand everything. After one operation, my doctor rang me over a bank holiday. Asking was I ok. The best hospital I've been too X

I had to have a colonoscopy proceedure, for which my anxiety was overwhelming. I need to praise the nursing staff that sat with me, listening to a jibbering wreck and kept a vigil on me ensuring i was safe. Incredible staff. Today during my proceedure i have to thank mike who not only reassured me throughout the process, but held my hand throughout. My consultant Mr Bajwa, such a wonderful caring professional. I know i was a challenge, and i cant thank the team enough, from Julie Grey, sadie, Ashley, lorna, mike and Mr Bajwa. Some other hospitals need to take lessons on excellent patient care. You go above and beyond and i cant thank you enough.

St John The Baptist Church

Church St, Peterborough PE1 1XB, UK – 01733 563978

St John's is a lovely church with a really peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. There is a regular cafe open inside, where you can relax and get served by charming people and soak up the vibe. There are also regular music and art events and lectures on subjects varied far and wide. It seems rude to compare it with the cathedral but where the cathedral scores on grandeur and historic significance; St John's wins on peace, and comfort.

A beautiful church in the centre of Peterborough. Well worth a visit.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Old Fletton

My Riga, Peterborough, Russian Restaurant

31 Lincoln Rd, Peterborough PE1 2RH, UK – 07721 082164

My first Russian reastraunt experience & the flavours were so authentic & unique, a refreshing change from all the 'box' chains out there these days, if you feel like something new & different & a pleasant surprise to the usual, check it out

Nice food, nice staff. But waitress was unsure about some foods ingredients when asked.

The Huntly Restaurant

1 The Village, Peterborough PE2 7DN, UK – 01733 391111

If you are a regular to The Huntly, then you might find the menu changes too infrequently and if a vegetarian then you are limited often to risotto, but this is to find fault in an otherwise very agreeable dining experience. The food is great, as are the surroundings, and Giovanni, the maitre d' at The Huntly Restaurant is a credit to his profession. Recommended.

Turkish Kitchen

34 New Rd, Peterborough PE1 1FW, UK – 01733 555167

Took my wife here for our 29th Anniversary. We did not book a table, but we were lucky, as we went early evening and only two of us. The food was really nice and plenty of it. The service was good also. Within an hour of being there, the place was packed, but attention to detail did not diminish! The food was fresh and healthy, cooked for all to see. We ended up having 3 courses and coffee and it was all for a good price! We will be going back and taking friends too!

Great food and lots of it! We were seated and served promptly (we had a reservation). The only thing I would say is that during the meal, no-one approached us to ask if everything was OK or to see if we wanted more drinks. But other than that very minor thing, all was fine, and we will come again.

Nursery and Preschools

The Hampton Day Nursery and Pre-School

Hargate Way, Hampton Hargate,, Peterborough PE7 8BZ, UK – 01733 566321

My daughter started at Busy bees in November after moving to Peterborough. From the very start, all of the staff from reception to key workers with the children have been extremely helpful and have made Brooke feel at home and put me at ease with knowing she will be more than ready to start school in September. Brooke is also vegan and they have worked around that and cooked alternatives for her without any fuss. I couldn't be more thankful for all of their help daily with the progress of getting Brooke ready for school, I have noticed just how much she has grown up in the past few months and I know a lot of it is down to the guidance and examples set whilst she has been attending.

My little boy attends Pre-school here and loves it. The staff are really friendly and great with him. They are getting ready to prepare him for 'big school' and he comes home talking about it. My little lady is already signed up to start in January she tries to stay each morning when dropping little man off. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
