Local Bookshops

Waterstones

38-40 Bridge St, Peterborough PE1 1DT, UK – 01733 555323

I love just popping in and having a browse. A really classical and comfortable shop with friendly staff

Always willing to help pre order books ECT ECT. Shop has 2 floors.

The Works

28/30 Bridge St, Peterborough PE1 1DW, UK – 01733 314713

Great for discount books and stationary and art stuff. Stairs a little steep so struggled here with my cane and purchases as only one till downstairs. It would have been nice for an assistant to offer me help so I could have bought more books from them as couldn't carry them down the stairs. Gets packed out at Christmas. Not enough maneuvering room really for those with mobility impairment.

Cheap as chips... always find decent bargains in here... for stationary, canvases, calendars... and today paint brushes

WHSmith & Post Office Ltd

32-36 Bridge St, Peterborough PE1 1DP, UK – 01733 564231

It's a post-office, and offers the norm along with currency. Can be busy though.

Has a good range of stuff, however is very grubby and dirty. Often with stuff all over the floor and in the wrong shelves. The heating also makes a weird squeaky noise that drives you mad.
